  1. 1.  Eunice Silvers was born on 8 Dec 1931 in Unicoi County, , , Tennessee (daughter of George W. Silvers and Mary Etta "Marietta" Blankenship); died on 3 Nov 2018 in Unicoi County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee.

    Notes:

Eunice Silvers McIntosh, 86, began her earthly journey on Dec. 8, 1931 in Flag Pond, TN and in the early morning hours of Nov. 3, 2018, surrounded by her children, and family, the Lord called her home.

She was the youngest daughter of George and Marrietta Blankenship Silvers. At the time of her home going, she was being cared for by the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin, TN. She grew up in Flag Pond, TN although most of her adult life, she lived in Johnson City, TN.

Our mother was a homemaker, she often stated one of the joys of this life was raising her children. One of our fondest memories would be coming home from school and Mom being there, and the wonderful aromas from the meal she would be preparing for us. Mom so enjoyed the holidays, birthdays, and Sunday lunches that she would cook huge meals. She was so happy when all or some of her children came home to eat with her and Dad. Always around the end of October, she would start making candies, cookies, and cakes to have during the holidays for us, and also to give to neighbors and friends. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren would always say "Mamaw is a great cooker." Mom enjoyed teaching us girls how to cook, and to preserve food, even how to pickle certain food the way her mother and grandmother taught her. Her grandchildren will remember all the times they dyed eggs with Mamaw, carved pumpkins and especially making candies at her house, the laughter, and also hearing "Ok you all better calm down or I am going to get my switch." They knew she meant it and also knew she loved them enough to correct them.

After her children were grown, Mom worked for a short time at Pharmaseal and in later years she was employed at Tri Cities Christian School, doing what she loved, cooking. She loved being around the children and making sure everyone had a good meal.

Our Mother always took us to church as children. Working with small children in Sunday School, and vacation bible school, our home also was opened weekly along with other neighbors homes for children's bible classes. More times than not, she would be in the nursery caring for the babies during church services. She was Mamaw, not only to her grandchildren, but to many others. Dad did not attend church when we were small children, still Mom took us to church and through her faithfulness to her Lord and praying, the Lord answered her prayers. Our father accepted the Lord and our home was Christ centered.

Truly Proverbs 31: 10-31 fits our Mother, she was not perfect, she truly was virtuous, her price is far above rubies, the heart of her husband doth trust her, worketh willing her hands. She opened her arms to the poor and needy, clothed in strength, speaks with wisdom, her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, he praiseth her. She Loved!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Garland L. McIntosh, the love of her life, she told so many. They truly were one, and after Dad went home, Mom never seemed satisfied in this world without him. They are together once more. Also her sisters: Ola Silvers, Lula Marrow, Jettie Silvers, Bulah Robinson, Sallie Rice; her brothers: Claude, Grady, Freeman, Elroy, Raleigh, and Charlie Silvers; mother and father-in-law, Richard Axie McIntosh, brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Vonda Lee McIntosh, brother in-in-law, Eugene Rice, other family members, and life long friends were there to welcome her home.

She is survived by two sons: Richard (Joan) McIntosh, Chris (Tammy) McIntosh, daughters: Sharon (Reese) Hulse, Kathleen (Greg) Phillips, grandchildren: Mellisa (Todd) Bingham, Robert (Christy) McIntosh, Tina McIntosh, Jennifer (Chris) Hyder, Michelle (Jerry) Simpson, Heather (Jamie) Hughes, Beth (Keith) Hulse, Jason Jones, Connor and Cooper McIntosh; great-grandchildren: Ashley, Trey, and Bailey Bingham, Alex and Braxton Smith, Hunter and Hayden McIntosh, James and Patrick Hyder, Jonathan Tipton, Taylor Allman, Jerrica Simpson, Justin Wilcox, Kelsie, Dawlton, Chesney, Hughes, Cody and Dillion Jones, Madison French, Olivia and Peyton Hulse; great-great-grandchildren: Ava Tipton, Greyson Wilcox; her brothers: Harrison (Rellie) Silvers, Offie (Ellieen) Silvers; sisters-in-law: Reba Silvers, Geneva Silvers, Pauline Rice, Martha Ricker; brothers-in-law: Kenneth McIntosh, Foy Lee (Nancy) McIntosh, Andy (Debbie) McIntosh; very special niece, Carol Sue Price, and several other nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank the Center on Aging and Health for the care given to our mother, especially the staff on the Special Care Unit, Amy, Melissa, David/Dean, Karen, Christy, Shana, Kevin Laws (Chaplain), and several others. A huge thank you to Amedysis Hospice, especially Rebecca "Becky" Edwards, for their help and compassion during a difficult time, which was greatly appreciated.

Much love and appreciation to Ms. Helga McKinney and Mrs. Debbie Mitchell for caring for our Mom and making sure her needs were always met. The love you showed to her will never be forgotten. Thank you to Madison French (Mamaw's special great-granddaughter) who stayed with her and helped with her needs, loved on her, like they were peas in a pod.

Much love has also been shown to Mom from Pleasant Beach Baptist Church, and Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Erwin. The cards, visits and most of all prayers were a blessing.

The family will greet friends to share memories on Wednesday, November7, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services Johnson City and other times at Mr. McIntosh's daughter, Sharon's home in Jonesborough.

A Celebration of Eunice's Life will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The service will be officiated by Dr. Reggie Weems, Pastor Mark Fowler, and Pastor Charles Biggs. Music will be provided by Michelle Simpson, Beth Ann Hulse, and Alison Grace Holder, and a poem read by Melissa Bingham. A Graveside and Committal Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery in Jonesborough. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
