Levi married Nancy Elizabeth Calhoun. Nancy (daughter of James Calhoun and Catherine Van Zant) was born about 1822 in Ashe County, , , North Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Nancy Elizabeth Calhoun was born c1822 in Ashe County. She married Levi Johnson who was born c1823 in North Carolina and died c1863 in Richmond, VA. There is some confusion in my mind about this Nancy due to Wade Eller. He has an Elizabeth Roten married to Levi Johnson. Russell Larkin Calhoun says that he is a descendent of this Nancy Calhoun and Levi Johnson. I have taken Russell's word for this connection, even though I'm not sure of the link. At this time, I do not have Elizabeth Roten connected with a spouse. The 1850 census record would tend to agree with Russell. Levi Johnson and Elizabeth are living next to A.J. Carpenter and Mary Calhoun in household #1048. Levi Johnson at age 27; Elizabeth age 28; Barnabas age 6; Geo age 4; Martha age 2. Census and oral records show that Nancy and Levi Johnson had nine children.
