Faye Guy Phillips, age 87, of Newland, North Carolina, the Cranberry Community, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Life Care Center of Banner Elk.

She was born on March 28, 1930, in Avery County, North Carolina, a daughter the late Ora Bell Guy.

She was a member of the Belview Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time in her flowers and her garden.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Phillips; sons, Randall Glenn Phillips and Tony Ray Phillips; brother, Earl Stout.

Faye leaves behind to cherish her memory: Daughter: Sherry McCoury of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; Daughter: Brenda Smith of Cranberry, NC; Daughter: Lorenda (David) McGuire of Cranberry, NC; Son: Charles (Cleta) Phillips of Morganton, NC, Son: Darrell (Deborah) Phillips of Cranberry, NC; Son: Dean Phillips of Covington, Va.; Son: Wesley (Teresa) Phillips of Morganton, NC; Sister: Sue Ward of Lenoir, NC; Sister: Polly South of Hudson, NC; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Services for Faye Guy Phillips will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Cranberry Baptist Church, with Rev. David Burnop and Rev. Tull Oakes officiating. Music will be under the direction of Alesia Calloway and Michael Burnop.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday evening at the Cranberry Baptist Church.
