ALVIN C. RAINBOLT, 74, 812 Tipton St., Johnson City, a Spanish American War veteran, died in Veterans Hospital at Mountain Home, April 27.
He was formerly a resident of Butler, and a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m., April 29, with Rev. Clarence Nelson and Rev. James A. Clark officiating. Burial was in the New Butler Cemetery.
Survivors are: the wife, Mrs. Lillie Rainbolt; six sons: Gordon of Lenore, N.C.; Brown of Morristown; Dugger and Clyde of the home; Philmore of El Paso, Tex.; and McKinely of Hampton; four daughters, Mrs. Glen Martin of Argentina; Mrs. Pearl Marlow of Grand Junction, Colo.; Mrs. Lottie Mae Fletcher and Mrs. Betty June Stout, both of Butler; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Alvin C. Rainbolt, 74, of 812 Tipton Street, died in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Mountain Home Tuesday morning. He was formerly a resident of the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church, a Spanish American War Veteran, and a member of the Mountain City American Legion Post No. 67.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Rainbolt, six sons, Gordon of Lenoir, North Carolina, Brown of Morristown, Dugger and Clyde both of the home, Filmore of El Paso, Texas, and McKinley of Hampton; four daughters, Mrs. Glen Martin of Argentina, Mrs. Pearl Morrow[sic] of Grand Junction, Colo., Mrs. Lottie Mae Fletcher and Mrs. Betty June Stout both of butler; twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. M. H. Carder and the Rev. James A. Clark officiating. Burial will be in the New Butler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends.
The body was moved to the home today at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home.
Alvin married Lilliebelle Ward about 1899 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Lilliebelle (daughter of William Hamilton Ward and Elizabeth Potter) was born about 1883 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
