John Henry Loggins was the son of Wesley (Wes) Loggins and Angeline Davis Loggins. He was first married to Martha H. Shoun on March 8, 1899. They had one child, Luther. After Martha died, he next married Zelia Sturgill on December 31, 1905. John and Zelia had six children: Charlie W, Jack H, Annie Lee, Maggie Ellen, Venia Pearl and James Allen ("Buck").

John's father, Wesley Loggins, was born circa 1847 in Washington County, VA, and he was probably the son of Namon Loggins and Lydia Cook Loggins. Angeline Davis was born on February 2, 1853 in Wilkes County, NC, and she died at the age of 95 on December 22, 1848 in Johnson County, TN. She was probably the daughter of Thomas (Tom) and Martha Church Davis. Wesley and Angeline were married in Johnson County, TN on April 27, 1876.

John married Zelia Sturgill on 31 Dec 1905 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Zelia was born about 1877; died about 1961 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Morley Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tenessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
