Probably was the son of Elijah, as listed in the 1994 IGI as William b.
1808. Found in 1820, 1850, 1860 Wilkes Co., NC census working as a
Preacher married to Sally. In 1860 he had land value of
$600/personal property $550. According to Martha A. Stout Smith, Billy
had slaves, land, money and lived in North Carolina. He was a preacher
and fair complected.

William married Sarah Lenderman on 22 Dec 1825 in Wilkes County, , , North Carolina. Sarah (daughter of Leonard L. Lenderman and Anna Fife\ Fyffe) was born on 17 Apr 1808 in Wilkes County, , , North Carolina; died on 17 Nov 1876 in Wilkes County, , , North Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Sally was dark complected and was thought to be Black Dutch. (Grannie
Stout) The line is German - Deutsch. The family originally came from
the Black Forest Region of Germany. Sally probably considered herself
Black Deutsch because she came from the Black Forest of Germany.

The descendants of the Lenderman family were blue-eyed people with
brown or black hair. They look very much like the majority of the
people in the upper Rhine Valley, Germany. (Grayson Walker)

Notes:

Elijah executed his Last Will and Testament in March of 1854 as a
resident of Wilkes County, NC. It lists his age as about 86. He died
in 1860. V. Church Taylor states: "This Will was found by C.J. Coats
somewhere in the office, Spring Term 1879 (25 years after it was
written), I found no record of its probate, V.C.T." (Phillips Book)
Owned about 1000 acres of land and slaves.(Charles Hayes)

Dear Brother and Sisters and Nephews,
"I rec. your letter dated July 4, 1837....I must inform you at this
time about the loss of our daughter Elizabeth, the wife of Allen
Whittington died the 19 day of this month July, was taken in child
birth and had her child and died in about 3 or 4 hours....I wish to
inform you that old Moses Shew is dead and William Curry's wife is
dead. Bin dead both about one year."
"I hird from your old settlement the other and Siler and our sister is
moved away to Grason County Virginia State."
