Edna Jean Lunceford, age 80, of 727 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Fritts McCloud, and one daughter, Kathy Miller.

Edna enjoyed spending time gardening and canning. She especially enjoyed her time as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

She was formally a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church since 1947.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, L.C. Lunceford; two daughters: Anita Vestal of Elizabethton, TN and Rita Southerland and husband Joe of Elizabethton, TN; two sons: Russ Lunceford of the home and Steve Lunceford and wife Stephanie of Elizabethton, TN; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one special great grandson Christopher Lee Sims; and several nieces, nephews and special friends, Robert Clark, Johnny Lovelace, Matthew Ainsworth and Brenda Vestal.

Services for Edna were held at the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Wilson officiating.

Graveside service and interment were at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 14, 2015 from Dyson Grove Cemetery.

JOHN FRITTS…
…77, died at his home at Doeville on Tuesday, Oct. 17. He was a member of Rock Springs Church there, and was native of Johnson county.
Survivors are the wife, Emiline, of Doeville; six sons, Warren and George of Doeville; Blaine and Jady of Elizabethton; Burlis of Roanoke, Va., and Ike of Grand View, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude McCloud and Mrs. Ada Morgan, both of Elizabethton, and Mrs. Jasper Laws of Carderview; 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilburn of Doeville, Brown of Elizabethton and George of Neva.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Rock Springs Church, with Rev. J. J. Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Fritts Cemetery.

John married Emeline L. Courtner on 17 May 1902 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Emeline (daughter of James C. Courtner and Julia Ann Arnold) was born on 20 Mar 1885 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 23 Nov 1965 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee.
