6. | Looney B. Blevins was born about 1820 in , Giles County, Tennessee, ; died on 6 Apr 1893 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Garland Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee. Notes: Looney served in the Union 4th TN Inf. Looney joined the Union Army at the Strawberry Plains exit in Knoxville, TN. He was captured in McMinnville TN and released by the confederates that is now known as the "War of the Rebellion". According to a affidavit filed by friend James E. Hopkins, during the march to Kingston TN, Looney had trouble with his leg and attacked with Typhoid Fever and became very sick from wading in the waters and snow. He was treated by Dr.Norwood at a private home owned by a girlfriend of Srgt.George W. Richards, while in Kingston TN. Looney recovered from the fever and marched with his unit to Mossier Mills and then onto Morristown TN. He remained wounded until his discharge in Nashville TN in 1865. He received an honorable discharge and pension, he owned and lived on the land handed down to his wife Martha Garland, from her grandfather Samuel Garland until his death that included the Garland Cemetery and Stoney Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
