    Notes:

ELIZABETHTON - Hazel Pauline White, of Elizabethton, was born January 27, 1928 and passed away on July 7, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shubert Earl White, her parents Dewey and Myrtle Rains Pierce, her brother-in-law, Lee Wills and son-in-law, Gary Donald Coker.

Survivors include her daughters: Janet Coker of Elizabethton and Diana Mottern of San Antonio, Texas; her granddaughters, Melinda Coker of Baltimore, Maryland and Beth Mottern, San Antonio, Texas; her great grandchildren: Veronica and Lavinia. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Ruth Willis, Daytona Beach, Florida; her beloved "spiritual" children, Sherry and Tommy Maines, of Elizabethton and Linda and Tony Trott of Johnson City; and her treasured best friends Gilda and Teddy Reed of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Pauline was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Elizabethton; and a proud member of the 'Ladies #2' Sunday School Class.

Pauline's 66 years of home-making, was the source of great and delightful pride to her husband and children for her unsurpassed talents in cooking, sewing, needlepoint, gardening, preserving, decorating, hosting and superlative, creative talent for her many, many accomplishments. She was also employed for several years, as a telephone operator (one of its last "switchboard" operators) at Carter County Memorial Hospital, where she made dozens of life-long and wonderful friends.

"Miss Pauline" had an unshakable faith in God and trust in Jesus Christ which was well demonstrated in her over 40 years of service as a preschool Sunday School teacher, where she made an unforgettable impression on hundreds of precious little souls, to include Abbie Harris, a Nurse Practitioner in Elizabethton, who is proud of her photo of herself and her favorite Sunday School Teacher.

Pauline's consistent, detailed and utterly devoted care of her mother and her husband, during each of their last years, became a matter of absolute amazement to family, friends and several members of the medical community alike. It was known as a "treat" to come to Pauline's house. No matter how busy she was, and she was always busy, you left with a full stomach and a warmed heart. Her grandson in-law, Jacob Cortez, best sums up her legacy when he said, "Of all the people of her generation that I've known, she had the most consummate grace and the quickest mind, and I will never forget the pleasure of her company."

A special notice of gratitude goes to Dr. Charles Famoyin, Sarah, and all the wonderful and knowledgeable staff of Quality of Life Health Care, Johnson City; special friends, Mr. Luther (and the late Mrs. Ann) Deloach, and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell and Ruby Garrison.

Funeral Services will be held at the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 with the Rev. Travis Tyler and Rev. Tommy Maines officiating.
