Notes:

William left Shenadoah Co. VA. in 1776 & traveled 300 miles down to NortheastT n. For the first 6 months he was in this area he saw only 2 white men. One of these was named Hutton who was later killed by Indians. William & Martha lived on Buffalo Creek until 1790 when his brothers Nehemiah & Simon were killed by Indians. William & Martha then moved to the Hickory Tree area on the Holston River & were the 1st settlers on Kellers Creek.
