DEATHS
Henry Harrison Fletcher, 74, of Butler (Dry Run Community) died at his home Saturday, 12:00 noon after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late William E. and Matilda O'Neal Fletcher. He was a retired farmer, veteran of World War I, member of the American Legion and a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Belva Cardwell Fletcher, Butler; four sons, Walter, Paul, and Charles, all of Butler, and Rev. Carroll Fletcher, Neva; five daughters, Mrs. M. Rainbolt, Mrs. Annie Bradley, Mrs. Dorothy Potter, Mrs. W. Phillips, Mary L. Potter, Butler; five sisters, Mrs. Lula Orton, Mrs. Dora Orton, and Mrs. Myrtle Cardwell, all of Johnson City, Mrs. Cheloia Clark and Mrs. Dillie Grindstaff, both of Butler; 31 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from the Midway Baptist Church Monday, 2 p.m., with the Rev. Carl Wilson officiating.
Burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery.
Pall-bearers[sic] were men of the Adult Bible Class of Midway Baptist Church, Herbert Lewis, Dana Morley, Norvin, Bradley, Chalmas Laws, Robert Garland, and Truman Dugger.
Henry married Belva A. Cardwell about 1925 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Belva (daughter of James Giddeon Cardwell and Mary Ann Eller) was born about 1904 in North Carolina, , , ; died about 1987 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Fletcher Family Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee.
