    DEATHS
    Daniel Moody, 61, of Rt. 1, Mountain City, died Saturday, 1:30 a.m., in Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, N. C., after a brief illness. He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late William Roy and Margaret Anderson Moody. He was owner and operator of the Moody Lumber Co., and a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.
    ]Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iva Lee Moody; one son, William Moody, Mountain City; three daughters, Mrs. Joy Lee Cress, and Mrs. Cloyce Phillippi, both of Mountain City, and Mrs. Minnie Miller, Shouns; two brothers, Stacy Moody, Beech Creek, N. C., and Edward Moody, Hampton; four sisters, Mrs. Tilda Flannery, Toodd[sic], N. C., Mrs. Ida Bowman, Elizabethton, Mrs. Eva Greer, Butler, and Mrs. Texie Trivette, Neva; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday, 2 p.m., from the Gentry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Gatton and Rev. Kermit Combs officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
    Pall-bearers[sic] were Clint Dunn, John Head, Elmer Jones, Blaine McElyea, R. L. Lewis, Ronda Head, Paul Head, Edgar Farmer, C. J. Knight, Marion Woodards, Ed Wilcox and Haney Johnson.
    Flower-bearers were friends and neighbors.
    Lewis Gentry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    ...76, Route 1, Dry Hill Community, died unexpectedly at 7:30 p.m. Friday at her home.
    Mrs. Moody was a native of Johnson county, and a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church.
    Survivors include three sons, Stacy Moody, Beech Creek, N.C., Daniel Moody, Mountain City and Edward Moody, Butler; five daughters, Mrs. Tilda Flannery, Toliver, N.C., Mrs. Alta Anderson, Mountain City, Mrs. Ida Bowman, Elizabethton, Mrs. Eva Greer, Butler, and Mrs. Taxie Trivett, Neva; 37 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Lawrence Hagaman and Rev. J.J. Richardson officiating.
    Pallbearers were Carter Isaacs, Carroll Bowman, Norman Dugger, H. Greenwell, T.L. Culver, L.R. Dugger, Darrell Green and Thomas Gray.
    Gentry Funeral Home in charge.

    BENJAMIN MOODY
    Benjamin Moody, 91, died at his home on Rte. 5, Elizabethton, Sunday Feb. 27, leaving 109 direct descendants.
    A member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, he is survived by four sons, Sam C., Rte. 5, George of Harmon, Va., James of Rte. 2, Carderview, and Tom of Star Rte. Carderview; four daughters, Mrs. Della Jane Gregg of Rte. 6, Elizabethton, Mrs. Anna Bowman and Mrs. Alice Anderson, both of Carderview, and Mrs. Eliza Arney of Neva; 30 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
    The funeral was at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church, Johnson County at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, with Rev. J. J. Richardson and Rev. Ed Burnett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Grandsons and granddaughters were pallbearers and flower bearers.
