    The 1850 Carter County, TN census listed the marriage dates for heads of household. The date given for Jsmes Bunton is hard to read, either 14 Oct 1821 or 1828. Examining the 1830 and 1840 census records shows that he had three children born between 1820-1825. Therefore, his date of marriage must have been 4 Oct 1821.
