Third child of William B. and Elizabeth Chaplin Fripp. Married Ellen Louisa Chisolm of Johns Island, daughter of Samuel Prioleau Chisolm and Martha Chaplin on April 15, 1853. He owned the plantation Cedar Grove on St. Helena Island. He was killed in the Battle of Bee's Creek near Coosawhatchie Couthouse, SC. He was a Private in Company H, 3rd South Carolina Cavalry.
