1. | Thomas Rogers was born about 1775 in North Carolina, , , ; died about 1830 in Bulloch County, , , Georgia. Notes:
"Thomas Rogers was a millright by trade. For some reason, he
decided to leave his young family, and go to Florida, seeking work in
his trade. It is said that he left home one morning to go to Florida.
He was never seen or heard of again. What happened to Thomas Rogers
thereafter, is only speculation and conjecture. What is known is that
there were Indians still in the territory. It is also known that Thomas
Rogers would not have likely left home without sufficient money to
sustain his keep on the journey. Too, it is likely that he rode a
horse. He could have been robbed and killed for any money that he may
have had, or killed for his horse. At any rate, Thomas Roger left a
wife and four young children behind." (pg. 18; Rogers book by Judge
Harry R. DeLoach)
