    SUCCESSION OF JAMES SMART

    STATE OF LOUISIANA, Parish of Claiborne

    KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That we, Ann J. Smart as principal, and John G. Warren and M.J. Scott as security, are held and bound unto B. R. Coleman Clerk of the District Court in and for the parish of Claiborne, LA., or to his successors in office, for the use and benefit of the legal heirs and representatives of James Smart late of the parish of Claiborne, dec'd, in the sum of Seventeen hundred and fifty dollars, for the payment whereof, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents.

    Dated at Homer, the 21 day of April, A.D. 1860.

    Whereas, the above bounden Ann J. Smart

    Has been appointed by the District Court of the parish of Claiborne, administrator of the succession of James Smart late of the parish of Claiborne, State of Louisiana, deceased:

    Therefore, the condition of the above obligation is such that if the said Ann J. Smart shall well and faithfully discharge and perform all the duties of said appointment according to law, then the above obligation to be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

    Jessey, S. E. Smart, Samuel W. Smart, Sarah A. Smart, wife of William Deloach, Franklin B. Smart, James D. Smart, Margaret D. Smart wife of George W. Henderson. All issues of the marriage between the said James Smart (deceased) and your said petitioners Ann J. Smart.

    With respect showeth that they all the legal and forced ????? to the Estate of the said James Smart that it is the wish of all, to have said effects composing the Entire estate – wherefore they pray that a family meeting be ????????? and ??????/ Composed of Jessey, S.E. Smart, Samuel W. Smart, James D. Smart and Franklin B. Smart brothers of said minors of William Deloach and George W. Henderson, brothers-in-laws the said minor and John Knighton, uncle to said Minor. All residents of the Parish of Claiborne, La and the absence of said relatives then that the ????? appoint other relatives or friends to be composed of any five of them for the purpose of advising whether or not it will be to the interest of said minor to have said property sold and as to the terms of sale that a ???????? ????? to John W. ________a notary public authors giving him to con????
