They had seven children before her death. David then married Jane Fry on Dec. 28, 1848 in Wythe County, VA. They moved to Johnson County, TN around 1855. David and Jane had a total of thirteen children together. David and Jane donated the land that is now the Phillippi Cemetery.

    Died before 11 July 1843 when his death was suggested in the suit of James K. Polk, Govr. & Reuben Miller Sheriff & Larkin Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Garland Wilson and John Grindstaff. Richard L. Wilson and Andrew Wilson, administrations, petitioned to sell slaves. Garland Wilson died in March 1843 leaving a widow, Polly Wilson, and eleven heirs at law, making twelve shares. Slaves were sold 11 March 1846.
