    ELIZABETHTON - Mike Northmore, 56, of Elizabethton, TN entered into rest on June 29, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family following a brave battle with cancer. Mike was born and raised in Elizabethton, a town he loved and never left. He was a 1984 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Mike was of the Christian faith. He worked as a parts consultant in several local car dealerships for over 30 years. His passions included model trains, airplanes and guns. He was an avid sports fan and always cheered on his Cyclones, Vols and Titans. He loved to be outdoors camping, fishing or just hanging out at the lake. He was a master on the grill. Mike loved his feline companions dearly, especially Chessie, who stayed by his side until the very end.

    Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Christine Northmore of Elizabethton, TN. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzy Northmore of Elizabethton, TN, step-daughter, Heather Livingston and husband John, of Johnson City, TN, as well as many cousins, uncles and aunts who loved him dearly.

    Kenneth J. Northmore, age 84 of Elizabethton went home to be with his Lord, Monday, January 16, 2012 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. A native of Chicago, IL, he had lived in Carter County most of his life. He was a son of the late Robert and Lillian Northmore. He was retired from Holston Ordnance Works and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Mr. Northmore was a former Band Director at Unaka High School, he also founded The Besty Town Fife and Drum Corp in 1975. He was an original member of the cast of The Wataugans which is now called Liberty. He was a Eagle Scout and former Scout Master and loved to collect model trains.


    Survivors include his wife of over 54 years, Chris Lyons Northmore, Elizabethton, son, Mike Northmore and his wife, Susan, Elizabethton, one granddaughter, Heather Minton, Kingsport, sister-in-law and her husband, Lillie and Richard Fergosi, Elizabethton, sister-in-law, Merle Lynch, Birmingham, AL.


    The funeral service for Mr. Northmore will be conducted, at 8 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. prior to the service or friends may also call at the residence of his son, Mike, 1028 Broad Street, Elizabethton, anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Horn, O.B. Foster, Pat Lewis, Earl Slagle, Richard Fergosi and Kerry Lambert.

    ELIZABETHTON - Chris Northmore, age 82, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017 from the Johnson City Medical Center. Chris was born in Carter County to the late Earl M. Lyons and Kate Huskins Lyons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Northmore.

    Chris was a former employee of Belks and Watsons Department stores, had been a substitute school teacher within the Carter County School System and was a former beautician. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and loved Elizabethton and being with her family.

    Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Mike Northmore and wife Susan, of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Heather Minton, of Elizabethton; two sisters, Lillie Fergosi and husband Richard, of Elizabethton and Merle Lynch, of Birmingham, Alabama; her nieces and nephews, Joyce Lynch, Jeannie Lambert and husband Kerry, Becky Blackwell and husband Axe, and Earl Slagle and wife Linda; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the staff of Johnson City Medical Center, 5500 Floor.

    A service to celebrate the life of Chris Northmore will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Pat Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Monday; or at the residence of her son, Mike, at any time.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    MRS. CENIE LYONS
    Funeral services for Mrs. Cenie Lyons, 43, who died Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at her home near Keenburg, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist Church at Keenburg. The Rev. James Stout officiated. Interment was in the Lyons Cemetery.
    Survivors are the husband, Landon J. Lyons; one daughter, Armita Lyons; and five sons, Roy, Willie, Earl, Clarence, and Howard Lyons.
    Pallbearers were Russ Love, Charlie Cole, Conley Eller, James Lyons, Sam Carter, and Austin Harmon.
    Flower bearers were Grace Carter, Pauline Carter, Blanche Stanfield, Pauline Morris, Nellie Daniels, Goldie Cole, Maude Lyons, Leone Lyons, Gertrude Lyons, and Miss Chambers.
