Zola Mae Snyder, age 94, of Mountain City, Tennessee, was the daughter of the late Roy McKinley White and Ada Dove Phillips White. In addition to her parents, Zola was preceded in death by her husband Watson Decatur 'Doc' Snyder; a son, Scotty Lane Snyder; one sister, Wanetta White and two brothers: Willard 'Widd' White and Frank White.

Zola was a retired from teaching following 44 years of service. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors and working in her flower gardens. Zola was a member of First Baptist Church.

Zola is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Joe Pat and Judy Snyder and Michael Lynn Snyder; grandchildren: Daniel Snyder and wife Rebecca and Shane Snyder and wife Angel; great grandchildren: Shianti, Scotty and Bryce; special caregivers: Venia Stout, Debbie Greene, Marie Mahala, Carolyn Adams and Mary Ward, and several nieces and nephews.

Zola married Watson Decauter "Doc" Snyder on 6 Apr 1940 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee. Watson (son of Roy Mineyard Snyder and Mary Alice Grindstaff) was born on 22 Sep 1912 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 20 Jan 2001 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Sunset Memorial Park, , Johnson County, Tennessee. Notes:

Lynn Snyder, age 72 of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on October 9, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 22, 1945, to the late Watson Decauter 'Doc' Snyder and Zola Mae White Snyder. In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by a brother, Scotty Snyder.

Lynn was a Vietnam War Veteran having served in the Army as Combat Medic.

Lynn loved living in the mountains and farming. He was a very loving and caring man. He was also a very giving and generous man who would give you the shirt off his back. His family was very important to him and his granddaughter, Shianti, was the light of his life.

He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and had also attended Roan Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Angel Snyder; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Pat and Judy Snyder; grandchildren: Shianti Snyder and Cassie Scalf; nephew, Danny Snyder; great nephew, Scotty Snyder and several other family members.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Hankal officiating. Graveside service and interment with military honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be George Lowe, Bob Heck, Danny Snyder, Junior Eastridge, David Eastridge and John Eastridge. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Pat Snyder, John D. Snyder, Terry Snyder and Dennis Burgess.

Joel Patrick Snyder, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was loved by all who knew him! He was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. “Doc” and Zola Snyder, and brothers, Scotty Snyder and Lynn Snyder.

Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 40 years, Judy Snyder; step-children, Amy Thompson (Brandon) and Jeremy Snyder (Jackie); grandchildren, Macey (Chris), Michael (Krisi) and Izzy; nephews, Shane Snyder (Angel) and Dan Snyder (Rebecca); uncle, John D. Snyder;

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow the visitation from Sunset Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Connor Simcox, Dylan Simcox, Chris Harrison, Brandon Thompson, Michael Oxentine, Jeremy Snyder, Dan Snyder, and Shane Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Basher, Dave Greene, Lewis Walker, Billy Walker, Steve Arnold, Bud Reece, Bob Heck, David Snyder, Wesley Snyder, and Charles Crosswhite.
