James D. Estep, 82, 22111 Newport Ave., Colton, died Wednesday in Redlands. He was born in Tennessee and resided 11 years in Colton. He was a coal miner 30 years for Consolidated Coal Co. and had worked with his son, Dr. Howard C. Estep, at World Prophetic Ministry of Colton 10 years.

James married Nettie Virginia McNeal about 1915. Nettie was born on 31 Dec 1898 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died in Jul 1984 in San Bernardino County, , , California; was buried in Montecito Memorial Park, , San Bernardino County, California. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Virginia Ruth Hardin, 80, 108 Guinn Street, Elizabethton, died Monday, September 1, 2003 in the Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James and Nettie McNeal Estep. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hardin was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C. Hardin, on December 16, 1980, and by a brother, Rev. Howard C. Estep. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Blevins, of Johnson City; a sister, Lillian Hyder, of Johnson City; a grandson, Leonard James Blevins, of Columbia, S.C.; an adopted grandson, Ernie Davidson; several nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Marion [sic] Estep, of Colton, Calif. and Evelyn Wilson, of Elizabethton.

Funeral services for Virginia R. Hardin will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Estep and Rev. Ray Colbaugh officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2003 in the Blevins Cemetery (Stoney Creek). Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Lillian Hyder, 1204 Lester Harris Road, Johnson City. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Leonard (son of William Henry Hardin and Sarah Ellen Colbaugh) was born on 3 May 1922 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 16 Dec 1980 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Blevins Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee.
