  Notes	Johnson County News, Mountain City, Thursday, Sept. 9, 1948, page 4 ARCH LIPFORD, age 72, of route 3, Carderview, died Thursday at 240 p.m. at his residence after a lingering illness. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lily LEACH of Elizabethton, Mrs. Reece KYTE and Mrs. Clayte GREEN of Butler; three sons, Fred Lipford of Butler, Jesse and Homer Lipford of Elizabethton; three sistes, Mrs. A. K. HEATON and Mrs. John HARDIN of Elizabethton, and Mrs. D. A. COCHRANE of Kingsport. The funeral was held Saturday at 230 p.m. from the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church in Carderview, with the Rev. Clarence L. Nelson officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
