- George Reeves Eggers, 96, Campbellsville, son of the late John Eggers and Nancy Cable Eggers, was born in Ash County, N.C., Aug. 6, 1894. He died at 9:50 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 1991, in Greensburg after an illness. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and was retired from the Taylor County School System. He was also a veteran of World War I, having served his country in the United States Army. He was married to Gertrude Riall on Nov. 8, 1924. She preceded him in death April 17, 1980. He was also preceded in death by his son and his grandson, William Doyle Eggers on March 18, 1991, and Dale Keith Gardner on Dec. 27, 1955. He is survived by one daughter, Nell Gardner, Campbellsville; two granddaughters and one grandson, Patty Wagster, Dayton, Texas, and Cheryl Thompson and William D. Eggers Jr., both of Canton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with the Rev. Howard Lee and the Rev. George R. Gaddie officiating. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Colby Gardner, William D.
